The icon-writing and fresco painting in our Studio are based on Eastern church tradition. We do our best to work as medieval Christian iconographers did, and every mural or icon we create individually. So, every image is started with unique creative drawing, which is made as a base to fit perfectly the board proportions.

Our method is not a craftsman’s receipt which guarantees us a good result. It rather should be identified as a professional instrument, which helps us to combine responsible creativity and the tradition.

We use all the classical artistic means, as drawing, composition, tone, colour, and other, to make our images become new vivid confessions of our personal experience, instead of carbon copying or cloning the treasures of the past.

The reason why we do that is simply because it has always been like that in all medieval and even post-medieval time, - when all the handmade objects were being made individually. There is no aim to express or show something of one's self, it is rather about resolving different tasks and questions in every new image. That happens naturally, because every icon has different size and every fresco mural, being in it's particular environment, needs a proper individual solution, appropriate for their new conditions and circumstances.

So in every our image we try to find the solution, which would be the best for the new situation, doing it carefully, with personal risponsibility.
